I was raised and schooled in the Gatuyaini in Othaya.Am the second last of the family of five siblings. My education wasn't smooth due to lack of fee as my parents had to balance with all of us .With help my teachers and counselling and hardworking every available time with my parents blessings I managed good grades and joined Maseno University quite a distance from central Kenya.Cultural challenges were many as it was after elections violence of 2008.After university armed with Bsc in Actuarial science and IT I
job searched but the only work I would get were temporary contract which aren't stable hence I saved some capital and bought fruits in bulk to deliver to markets. In Africa women are supposed as believed to stay home and raise children but nowadays we are fighting for the equal rights to own land and businesses.I have a son who all he talks of is flying and my daughter a variety as her age three.I am always consulting
supply fruits to market and make delivery's.I started with going round the town selling but the demand is high as people want healthy eating.I used to finish my goods way before day end and soon I started taking orders and deliver from home. After sometime I started ordering in bulk and supplying to vendors but still did retail orders.I chose it because the market is ready and fruits sell throughout anytime, any weather and go fast.On normal days I make between 2500 to 6000. My profits go to the business first and home necessities.Sometimes I also pay school fees.
With the loan I intend to add supplies since the demand is rising and the clientele increasing .The planned extension is approximately 400dollars I have raised around 300 dollars and remains 100 dollars plus transportation which will take generally around 50 dollars.
This much supply am taking from the distribution channel by ordering from the company and sold to me at wholesale price which is generally making a profit of 30-50% per goods supplied. So in general removing the expenses I assuming to get around 28% profits.
