I am a young Kenya entrepreneur who is so ambitious and always thinking out of the box. With the current state in our nation, many youths are unemployed, but that was not a reason as to why I should not make it in life. I have had various challenges with Kenya banks, for they always don't offer loans for start-up businesses, but where there is a will, there will always be a way out.
I have been able to successfully establish myself in the area of agribusiness (mushroom farming), and I also have a registered company that gets tenders from various institutions to supply fresh-farm produce with other services. I desire to strategically locate myself and do export farming.
I supply fresh-farm produce to various institutions based within Nairobi and its environment. I also do mushroom farming at the place where I live, for this is the only kind of farming that you can do without a piece of land but just an enclosed room. I plan to go large-scale in the near future in all areas of farming and business.
My business has been up and running and thank you so much to Zidisha lenders. Currently its rainy season here in Kenya and many roads are rendered impassable due to heavy rains, whenever i get time to visit the market i do buy more stock to carry me for a few more days. I intend to use the above loan to improve my supply business of fresh-farm produce to various clients. Nowadays i service between 4 to 6 clients in a week and and they pay 30% at delivery and the remainder is to be paid within 7 days. The challenge always comes when you have received the next order that you have to supply, yet you have not been paid the last order. We are always recommended to have extra cash for emergencies to be able to cushion such moments.
I intend to use 60$ to add more oranges and mangoes, 80$ Irish potatoes, 20$ cabbages and the rest a selection of other fruits.
