I was born into a family of 10 siblings. My father was a farmer and my mother was a housewife. We grew up in rural Nakuru suburbs Kenya and our parents who were farmers did their best to educate us with proceeds from the farm which we sold as children at the market.School was about 30 kilometres away and we walked daily to school unless we had fees arrears, then we would look for menial chires to do in order to raise the fee balances that we owed the school. My parents worked hard and got each of us through primary and secondary schools and i eventually started out selling second hand clothes for close to 5 years after my secondary education. In secondary i passed and got to make it to college. My earnings from selling the second hand clothes on different markets helped me pay for my own college tuition and i eventually ventured into a posho mill business
My business is located in Weavers estate Nakuru,Kenya.I started operating my posho mill in the year 2013.I started my business with a capital of Ksh25,000.My business deals with grinding maize and millet and i sell it in grade 1 and 2. The business is licensed and issued with a single business permit(annual license) and it is located strategically close to my customers. In a day i can serve more than 100 different customers because maize floor is a staple food in Nakuru.
In a clean month i can make a net sales of ksh.30,000.After i add more stock of ksh.15,000,pay my business permit of ksh.360,pay my home rent and electricity bill.I am left with a clean Ksh.3,490,being a net profit.
In a way of the zidisha microfinance supporting my business,i will be able to make good sales and i will also make good profit which will sustain my family living standards and also i will move to a permanent building and expand my business.Thank you Zidisha team
Hellow Zidisha
With the first loan i will use it to restock more goods in my posho mill by including grinding of millet flour and sorghum floor in addition of the maize flours. Furthermore i will moe to a larger room to accomodate te large number of my customers who increae daily. With this i will able to make a daily profit of USD 40 - USD 60. With this i will be able to move to a spacious room due to the high demand of my customers
Thanks to Zidisha
God bless you.
