My name is Okumu Jentrix. I am grew up with my aunt after my parents passed on when I was young.I am married with one kid . i went to lugulu primary school and later joined University of nairobi for degree in agribusiness management.
One year into my marriage my husband was retrenched in what the employer said was a cost cutting measure. Since he was not prepared for it, it really had massive effects on our already constrained finances. My husband looked for another job in vain .I also send hundreds of applications for job but nothing come through. we decided to start farming business as we wait for job,not knowing that it was a job itself. my husband got a job soon later but i did not bother looking for a job anymore because I was busy looking at our 30 poultry. The poultry project did not disappoint and i was soon collecting eggs. Within two years ,I have managed to grow my farm into a home for 300 layers and my ambition is to have 1000 birds in the next one year.
I come from the iteso community. we are reach in culture including dances and traditional food. I am sure you will love our culture if you visit.
I like reading a lot. I blog and read novels during my free time. I also like meeting new people and making new friends.
I am a commercial poultry farming specializing in egg production. I currently have 303 layers and that translates to average 300 eggs per day.
Demand for eggs is rising constantly due to increase in population, particularly urban population.Eggs are used for breakfast, lunch and dinner and these wide use has also increased the demand.
i choose these business because it required less land to start unlike other farming activities that would require huge trucks of land.
i spend $400 on feeds ,electricity water ,labor and other miscellaneous. My monthly income is $650.
I use my profits to take care of my family, pay fees for my niece and business expansion.
Dear sir/madam
My farm is growing at very fast rate and I am certain with support from you I will be able to achieve my dreams.
